The Centre For Health Rights Advocacy (CFHRAD) is a registered, independent, non-profit and membership based Non Governmental Organization in Nigeria. Established in 2005, CFHRAD is a response to the global call on researchers and advocacy groups to stem the widening inequities in health. To achieve this, we believe that although gaining knowledge about positive health behaviors is crucial, more importantly, structural improvement and changes in health status come when power is gained over the policy environment and human rights are used as framework for health development.
Hence, the conviction of CFHRAD about the need for a change towards action-oriented, pro-equity policies, laws and approaches to address inequalities and inequities which create, amplify and sustain vulnerability of disadvantaged populations to life threatening conditions, preventable diseases and premature death. CFHRAD is an action oriented VOICE demanding for equitable public policies and modeling equity interventions that will tackle disparities in health outcomes of population. Our ultimate goal is to make modest contributions in ensuring that inequities are addressed and health as a right becomes a reality for every one and not just a blessing to be wished for!
